Sandblasting and Abrasive Blasting Sand
Sandblasting and abrasive blasting sand is a high-hardness silica sand used to clean, roughen and prepare metal, concrete and other surfaces prior to coating. Sprayed onto the surface with compressed air, the abrasive sand effectively removes rust, old paint and contamination.

Sandblasting is the process of directing abrasive material at a surface under high pressure to smooth, roughen, shape a hard surface or clean surface contamination. Sand and air are mixed in a chamber and directed onto the surface or workpiece through a handheld nozzle.
Silica sand is a preferred material for precision sandblasting techniques that prevent surface damage. Thanks to its high durability and abrasive properties, it is used successfully in surface preparation, cleaning, shaping and distressing operations.
In surface cleaning prior to painting, sandblasting delivers far more effective results than other methods such as grinding and power brushing. It is the most reliable method for surface preparation before painting, especially in shipbuilding, steel construction, tanks and pipelines.
