Silica Sand Supply in Istanbul
Istanbul is where Turkey's construction, construction chemicals, water treatment and industrial production are most densely concentrated. That density creates a need for regular, certified and on-time supply of core raw materials such as silica sand and quartz. At Seyman Maden we serve the Istanbul market from our own plant in Çatalca.
Our Çatalca Plant: Shipping from Inside the City
Our silica sand plant is located in Çatalca, Istanbul. For a buyer in Istanbul this makes a practical difference: the material does not travel from another province, it leaves from within the city limits. The haul is shorter, the delivery date becomes predictable, and freight takes up a smaller share of the total cost.
At the plant the raw material goes through washing, fluid-bed drying and screening; every batch is checked in the laboratory before shipment. Our filter products are manufactured in accordance with TS EN 12904.
Which Sectors in Istanbul Use Silica Sand?
The city's production profile also determines which fractions are in demand:
- Construction chemicals: dry sand in controlled gradings for ready-mixed plaster, repair mortar, self-levelling screed and joint filler.
- Precast and GRC: clean, low-moisture fractions for surface quality and strength.
- Water treatment: TS EN 12904 certified filter sand and gravel for drinking water and swimming pool filters.
- Epoxy and decorative flooring: epoxy sand for car parks, factories and showrooms.
- Blasting: surface preparation in shipyards, steel fabrication and maintenance work.
- Sports and landscaping: artificial turf, beach volleyball and children's play area applications.
Products We Supply to Istanbul

Shipping, Packaging and Lead Time
We ship in big bags (1000-1500 kg), 25 kg bags, silo tankers and in bulk by truck. Stocked fractions can be scheduled quickly; for custom fractions or high tonnages the date is set according to the production schedule. Site and factory delivery are both possible.
Why Is Local Supply an Advantage?
Relative to its unit price, silica sand is a bulky and heavy material, which makes freight a decisive cost item. Sourcing from a distant production point raises the cost and makes the delivery date less certain. Having the production point close to the market is a direct operational advantage for manufacturers who need regular shipments.
We also extract the raw material from our own quarry and process it in our own plants, so the supply chain is short: no intermediaries, and batch consistency and technical support come straight from the producer.
