Filter Gravel Product Description

Filter gravel is a quartz-based material with high mechanical durability that serves as support in the bottom layer of water filter systems. It provides optimum drainage that improves filtration efficiency and prevents the filter sand from escaping into the drainage nozzles.

In slow sand filters, a layered structure is bedded: 13.2–26 mm gravel at the very bottom, 5.6–13.2 mm gravel over it, then fine gravel layers in the 2.0–3.15 mm and 2.36–4.75 mm ranges. While this layered structure provides homogeneous water distribution during filtration, it also enables efficient cleaning during backwashing.

Filter gravel is used in combination with filter sand, filter anthracite and filter garnet in multi-layer filtration systems. Production in special fraction ranges can be carried out according to customer needs.
