Filter Anthracite

Filter Anthracite Product Description
Thanks to its low density and large particle size, anthracite is used in the top layer of multi-layer filtration systems. When used in combination with filter sand or garnet, large particles are retained in the upper layer and small particles in the lower layer, increasing solids-holding capacity and reducing backwash frequency.
Filter anthracite is usually used together with filter sand and filter gravel. This three-way combination forms a multi-layer filtration structure, ensuring that particles of different sizes are effectively retained as the water passes through all the layers. The anthracite in the upper layer captures large particles, extending the service life of the filter sand in the lower layer.
Thanks to its high carbon content, it has high mechanical durability, and its breakage and abrasion rate during backwashing operations is very low. Its low dust content provides rapid clarification during the start-up of filter systems.
